We are so thrilled to announce our support of iFred‘s #OneThing for #Hope Global Hope Challenge. If you saw Joe Biden’s recent interview, you will notice he said “You have to have hope.” We know this to be true as well.
We are supporting the campaign with cash prizes of $1,000 for the top voted entry, and $500 and $250 for the 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Entries are due January 15th, and each individual simply writes down or creates a video of the one thing they count on when feeling totally down.
We learn through reading or sharing, and you just never know who might relate to your strategy for creating a hopeful mindset when all feels lost. And what is so cool, is these entries are from all over the world! We just saw one from Nepal, and as we think you will agree the message relates to everyone, everywhere. Check it out on the site.
iFred enlisted Ambassadors of Jack.org‘s incredible team, where they explain the purpose and share their strategies. Can you relate? What are yours? We would love to hear. You never know who you might inspire with your insights.
While you don’t have to be depressed to feel hopeless, hopelessness is the primary predictor of suicide and number one symptom of depression. And if you aren’t aware of the statistics, they are quite shocking. 36% of girls are self-reporting depression before age 17 now in the US, 25% before 14 in the UK, and suicide is now the leading cause of death for 15-18 year old girls.
This is tragic, and iFred is addressing it through campaigns like the Global Hope Challenge to elevate the conversation of Hope, and an actual Hopeful Minds program focused on research that hope is a teachable skill. It contains lessons for creating, maintaining, and sustaining a hopeful mindset no matter what is happening. Check it out, it is free and online and you may just want to bring it to your area.
Our initial sales of Mood-lites supported the development of the Hopeful Minds program, and the new Mood-scents line (we hope!) helps sustain and grow it around the world. So if you haven’t already, be sure to check our new products, and share with family, friends, and influencers if so inspired to help us spread the word. And if you have any suggestions on great retail partners that are looking for cool new products, please do let us know.
Thanks, in advance, for sharing / liking / commenting on this post, and entering the Global Hope Challenge. We love our Coloring Lives work, it is an important part of our company. We are proud to say we started it 13 years ago, and have given over 1 million dollars to charities including iFred, the American Heart Association, Komen Foundation, Autism Speaks, Hopeline, and more.
Coloring Lives is so deeply ingrained in the philosophy of our founder, The Mood Factory integrated social giving in the business inception 13 years ago, way before social giving was cool. We are so glad it finally is, let’s work together to grow that trend.
